What is
PRP facial?
A preparation from your own blood.
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is prepared by processing a sample of your blood to concentrate platelets. Facial protocols vary and may involve injections or a proposed combination with microneedling.
The name “PRP facial” does not describe one standardized procedure. Ask exactly how PRP would be used, what evidence supports that method and what other options fit the concern.

Platelets contain signaling proteins involved in healing. PRP treatments aim to use that biology, but an appealing mechanism does not by itself establish the amount of cosmetic benefit.
Evidence for facial rejuvenation remains limited. FDA clearance of a preparation device is not approval of every PRP procedure, and microneedling-product combinations have not been cleared by the FDA.

No blanket FDA approval applies to a PRP facial. Device clearances and the procedure’s clinical use are different matters.

What should I discuss before treatment?
Discuss medications and supplements with your Revival provider before treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication without guidance from the prescribing clinician. Blood collection and injection carry infection, bruising and bleeding risks. Poor infection control is a serious concern. Using your own blood does not make the procedure risk-free.
