What is
Excessive sweating?
Start with the cause of the sweating.
Hyperhidrosis means sweating beyond what the body needs for temperature control. When underarm sweating remains a problem despite topical care, prescription treatment may be considered after assessment.
New or unexplained sweating can have an underlying medical cause. The location, timing, medicines and associated symptoms help distinguish a treatment for primary sweating from a problem that needs further investigation.

Botulinum toxin can interrupt nerve signals that activate treated sweat glands. The treatment is localized rather than a way to stop sweating everywhere.
