What is
Lip filler?
A lip treatment begins with anatomy.
Lip filler commonly uses hyaluronic acid gel to change the volume or definition of the lips. The aim and amount can differ: some people are exploring shape, others a change in fullness or balance.
Your provider considers the lip border, existing volume, movement and previous treatment. A plan may involve treating less, treating in stages or reassessing old filler before adding more.

Filler cannot recreate another person’s anatomy. Bring references to explain your preferences, while allowing the plan to respond to your own lips.
During your appointment
- Assess. Your provider examines the area at rest and in movement, reviews previous filler and discusses the appropriate product and amount.
- Treat. Filler is placed at selected points using a needle or cannula.
- Review. You receive aftercare guidance and a plan for reviewing the settled result.

Downtime & recovery
Allow for temporary swelling, bruising and tenderness. Your provider will explain aftercare and when to assess the settled appearance; an immediate photograph is not the final result.
How results develop
Early fullness includes swelling. Judge the appearance after the advised settling period, not in the first hours. Results are temporary and future treatment depends on assessment.

Is lip filler the same as a lip flip?
No. A lip flip changes muscle activity around the upper lip; filler adds material and volume.
What if I already have filler?
Tell your provider what was used and when. Adding more may not be the best first step.

What should I discuss before treatment?
Discuss medications and supplements with your Revival provider before treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication without guidance from the prescribing clinician. Filler can cause swelling, infection, lumps and asymmetry. Accidental injection into a blood vessel can cause tissue damage, blindness or stroke. Sudden vision changes, unusual severe pain or pale or dusky skin require urgent medical attention.
