Kybella?
A specific treatment for a specific area.
Kybella is a prescription deoxycholic acid injection used in adults for moderate to severe fat beneath the chin. It is not a general fat-dissolving injection for any part of the body.
Fullness under the chin can also involve skin laxity, anatomy or another medical issue. Assessment must identify the cause and whether treating fat would improve the overall profile.

Deoxycholic acid disrupts fat-cell membranes in the selected submental area. The resulting response and clearance take time.
Placement is important because nearby structures need protection. A course may include more than one treatment, depending on the plan and response.

- Assess. Review the source of fullness, neck anatomy and any swallowing problems or previous procedures.
- Treat. The clinician marks and injects the appropriate submental area.
- Recover & review. Allow swelling to settle before deciding whether more treatment is appropriate.
