What is
Microneedling?
Fine needles. A controlled response.
Conventional microneedling creates tiny punctures in the skin using a purpose-designed device. The treatment relies on the skin’s healing response and does not add radiofrequency energy.
The device, depth and concern determine what is appropriate. At Revival, discuss whether your concern is surface texture, a particular scar pattern or something that would respond better to another approach.

Work with the skin’s repair process.
Controlled needle penetration initiates a healing response in the treated tissue. The goal is gradual change rather than an immediate replacement of damaged skin.
A topical product used alongside microneedling is a separate consideration. The FDA has not cleared microneedling devices for use with other products, so combinations need their own explanation.
During your appointment
- Assess. Review skin health, scarring, prior treatment and suitability.
- Treat. Prepared skin is treated with a sterile, appropriate needle cartridge and selected settings.
- Recover. Follow the instructions for cleansing, skincare, makeup and sun exposure.
Treatment areas
Selected facial areas and appropriate scars, according to the device indication and clinical assessment.
Downtime & recovery
Redness, tightness, sensitivity or pinpoint bleeding can occur. Skin may react more strongly to active skincare while recovering.
How results develop
Texture changes take time and may require more than one session. Some scars will need a different or combined approach; improvement may be temporary.

Morpheus8 combines needling with radiofrequency energy. Conventional microneedling does not add that heat.
Does a deeper setting always work better?
No. Depth must suit the area and indication. Greater depth also changes the risks.
Can I use my usual acids or retinoids straight away?
Follow your provider’s restart instructions rather than assuming your normal routine is suitable during recovery.
What is recovery like after microneedling?
Redness, tightness, sensitivity or pinpoint bleeding can occur. Skin may react more strongly to active skincare while recovering.
What will my treatment cost?

What should I discuss before treatment?
Discuss medications and supplements with your Revival provider before treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication without guidance from the prescribing clinician. Infection, pigment changes, scarring and cold-sore flare-ups are possible. Active infection, some skin conditions and healing disorders can affect suitability.
