What are
PDO threads?
An absorbable thread, not a surgical lift.
PDO thread treatments place absorbable polydioxanone threads beneath the skin. Different thread designs are used for different purposes; a lifting thread and a smooth thread do not create the same change.
Your provider should explain the thread type, intended area and achievable result. A thread procedure does not remove excess skin or reproduce a surgical facelift.

Lifting threads are positioned to engage and support selected tissue. The material is absorbed over time; the tissue response and any aesthetic benefit vary.
The plan considers skin thickness, laxity, facial movement and prior procedures. Not every area benefits from the same type of thread.
During your appointment
- Assess. Review the degree of laxity and whether a thread procedure is suitable.
- Treat. After preparation and appropriate anesthesia, the clinician places the selected threads.
- Recover. Follow movement, skincare and activity guidance specific to your procedure.
Treatment areas
Selected facial or neck areas after assessment. Exact treatment sites depend on the thread device and proposed technique.
Downtime & recovery
Swelling, bruising, tenderness or a pulling sensation can occur. Dimpling, visible threads or discomfort need review rather than being assumed to be normal.
How results develop
Results are limited and temporary. Thread treatments cannot guarantee a lift equivalent to surgery, and further intervention may be necessary if complications arise.

No. It does not remove excess skin and offers a different degree and duration of change.
Are all PDO threads designed to lift?
No. Thread shape and intended use differ; ask which type is being proposed.

What should I discuss before treatment?
Discuss medications and supplements with your Revival provider before treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication without guidance from the prescribing clinician. Risks include infection, thread extrusion, visible or palpable threads, asymmetry, persistent pain and an unsatisfactory result. Removal or another procedure may be required.
