What is
Filler dissolving?
Know the material before changing it.
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme used to break down hyaluronic acid filler. It does not dissolve every filler material, and a concern about appearance does not automatically mean that dissolving is necessary.
An assessment looks at the product, placement, timing, swelling and your goals. Bring records of previous injections if available, including treatments performed outside Revival.

Break down hyaluronic acid.
When appropriate, hyaluronidase is injected into the area of hyaluronic acid filler. The amount and placement depend on the clinical assessment.
Dissolving for appearance and urgent treatment of a complication are different situations. Severe pain, unusual skin color or vision changes after filler need urgent medical attention, not a routine future appointment.
During your appointment
- Identify. Review the filler history and the reason for requesting a change.
- Discuss. Consider observation, dissolving or referral, including the risks of each.
- Reassess. If treated, allow the area to settle before planning replacement filler.

No. Hyaluronidase targets hyaluronic acid; other filler materials need a different discussion.
Can I refill at the same appointment?
Timing depends on the reason for dissolving and the tissue response. Agree on reassessment before assuming immediate replacement.
What should I expect after filler dissolving?
Swelling, bruising and tenderness can follow treatment. Allergic reactions are possible. Your provider will explain what warrants urgent contact.
What will my treatment cost?

What should I discuss before treatment?
Discuss medications and supplements with your Revival provider before treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication without guidance from the prescribing clinician. Hyaluronidase can cause allergic reactions, including serious reactions, along with swelling and bruising. It can affect native hyaluronic acid temporarily and may not resolve every filler concern.
