THE REVIVAL GUIDE

PRP hair restoration vs alternatives

PRP, medication, light-based treatment and transplantation address hair loss in different ways. Diagnosis comes first: compare evidence and suitability for your pattern of loss before committing to a course.

01 / MAKING THE DISTINCTION

A diagnosis comes before the comparison.

Gradual thinning, patchy loss and sudden shedding can have different causes. The right first appointment may be a medical evaluation rather than a cosmetic procedure. Discuss when the change began, family history and any associated symptoms. Cosmetic treatment should not delay assessment of unexplained hair loss.

02 / MAKING THE DISTINCTION

PRP is a procedure, not a daily product.

Platelet-rich plasma is prepared from a blood sample and delivered to the scalp as part of a treatment plan. It may be considered for selected patterns of hair loss. Ask why it is being proposed for your diagnosis, what evidence applies and how response will be measured. A package purchases visits; it does not guarantee regrowth.

THE APPROACHES, EXPLAINED

Different methods.
Different roles.

These options are a starting point for a conversation. Your assessment may suggest one approach, a staged combination or a different form of care.

01 / HAIR-THINNING ASSESSMENT

PRP hair restoration

PRP for hair uses a platelet-rich preparation from your own blood in selected scalp areas. It may be considered for some forms of thinning, but it does not treat every cause of hair loss or create new hair follicles.

Recovery to plan for

The blood draw and scalp injections can cause tenderness, swelling, bruising or pinpoint bleeding. Follow scalp-care advice and report signs of infection.

What to expect

Hair change takes time. Some people respond better than others, and maintenance or another therapy may be needed. A fixed increase in density cannot be promised.

03 / MAKING THE DISTINCTION

Medication follows a different routine.

Topical minoxidil and certain prescription medicines may be discussed after diagnosis. They have their own suitability limits, side effects and ongoing-use requirements. Ask a qualified clinician which options are relevant rather than assuming an injection replaces medical treatment. Do not start or stop prescribed medication based on this guide.

04 / MAKING THE DISTINCTION

Light devices and transplantation have different roles.

Light-based treatments and hair transplantation may also be considered in selected circumstances. A procedure that relocates follicles is different from a treatment intended to support existing hair. Device selection, diagnosis and assessment by an appropriate specialist determine whether an alternative deserves further investigation.

05 / MAKING THE DISTINCTION

Compare the commitment as well as the first price.

Ask about the total course, maintenance, time at appointments and review points. Record baseline photographs under consistent conditions. Decide in advance how the clinician will assess response and when a limited response would prompt a change of plan. No photograph or testimonial can guarantee your individual outcome.

What Revival can help you explore.

Our PRP hair page explains the current appointment and pricing information. Bring questions about alternatives to your consultation. Mentioning medication, light therapy or surgery here is educational and does not claim Revival supplies each of those services.

YOUR PLAN AT REVIVAL

Make the next step
an informed one.

01

Understand the starting point.

Share previous procedures, reactions and the change you have in mind. Your clinician reviews your history and examines the area before recommending treatment.

02

Agree on the scope.

Ask which product or device is proposed, why it fits your goal and what alternatives exist. Confirm the number of visits, recovery arrangements and full estimate.

03

Review the response.

Allow the appropriate recovery time before judging the result. Discuss how progress will be recorded and when to review whether further treatment is worthwhile.

Understand the investment.

Compare the same treatment scope. Signature and Reserve offer preferred rates; membership fees and treatment charges are separate.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Good questions.
Clearer answers.

Practical detail for your next conversation.

Ask something else ↗︎
Can PRP replace all hair-loss medication?

No. Treatment depends on the cause of hair loss and your clinical assessment.

Can I combine approaches?

Discuss this with the clinician managing your hair loss. A combination is not automatically appropriate.

What if my hair loss is sudden or patchy?

Arrange medical assessment to understand the cause before choosing a cosmetic package.

Are alternative treatments available at Revival?

This is an educational comparison. Ask our team what is actually available; specialist referral may be appropriate.

Can PRP grow hair where follicles are gone?

It is not a way to create new follicles. Long-standing bald areas may need a different discussion.

Is PRP the same as a hair transplant?

No. A transplant relocates follicles; PRP does not.

Do I need a diagnosis first?

Yes. Understanding the type and cause of hair loss helps determine whether PRP has a reasonable role.

What should I expect after PRP scalp treatment?

The blood draw and scalp injections can cause tenderness, swelling, bruising or pinpoint bleeding. Follow scalp-care advice and report signs of infection.

What will my treatment cost?

Ask Revival for the current price for your treatment area and proposed plan. We will discuss the product or device, what is included and any applicable membership terms before you choose.
